US high temperature map for May 22, 2014. There is a slight chance of showers in the greater Boston forecast for Friday and Saturday, but Sunday and Monday of this long Memorial Day weekend are looking clear according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures will warm for late in the weekend but only to seasonable levels. Highs on Sunday should reach into the high 60s and Monday will be even warmer with a high near 74 degrees.
There is also a chance of a meteor shower. Never before seen it is expected to hit on the evening of May 23 into the early morning of May 24. The Camelopardalids shower could be one of the best meteor shows, riveling the Perseid showers. If you can’t manage to get to a spot with a dark enough sky to catch the estimated 200 meteors per hour, NASA.gov will be live-streaming the event online. The best time to look out for the shower is between 2-4 a.m. EDT on May 24.
