The economy of Greater Boston gains about $1.4 billion each year from arts and culture, according to a report due out today.

The report being issued by ArtsBoston, an organization that promotes the arts in Greater Boston, is titled “The Arts Factor.” The findings aim to highlight the role the arts play in Boston’s identity and future.

Key findings include:

— Greater Boston has more arts and cultural organizations per capita than any other U.S. metro area (50 organizations for every 100,000 residents).

— At 18.3 million visitors per year, the number of people that visit Boston’s arts and cultural institutions every year would sell out Fenway Park 488 times.

— The number of people admitted free to arts and cultural organizations – the report puts the number at eight million attendees – could stand single file along the banks of the Charles River 36 times.
