Senate Construction Corp., a commercial construction company based in Shirley, has commenced the second phase of construction at Boynton Meadows in Groton.








A summary of recent transactions and personnel news within Greater Boston’s real estate community.

  • Senate Construction Corp., a commercial construction company based in Shirley, has commenced the second phase of construction at Boynton Meadows in Groton. The project will include 15 townhouses ranging between 2,000 and 2,500 square feet of space. The project is expected to be completed in November. The project includes the restoration of a historic, colonial structure as well as the addition of retail space. Maugel Architects designed the mixed-use project, which is being financed in part by Bank of New England and developed by Mount Laurel Development LLC.
  • After 40 years under the same ownership, the Boston Organ and Piano building on Route 9 in Natick has been sold to the 677 Worcester Street Trust for $3 million. Ria K. McNamara arranged the sale on behalf of the owner, Totaro Nominee Trust, with the help of TRB Associates who represented the buyer. The new owner plans to re-develop the property into a ballroom dancing facility.
  • RK Centers has purchased Worcester Crossing, Westborough Speedway Plaza, and a free standing Kohl’s store in Stoughton for a combined purchase price of $87.7 million. The properties add 661,000 square feet to the RK portfolio. The firm owns 49 shopping centers totaling 7 million square feet of commercial space in New England and South Florida.
  • Millstone Medical Outsourcing announced it will break ground July 28 on a new 40,000-square-foot headquarters expansion in Fall River. The project is expected to be complete in early 2015.
