BOSTON (CBS) – From pastrami on rye to a great Italian sub, these are some of the tastiest sandwich shops in greater Boston.
Moody’s in Waltham
Moody’s in Waltham puts an artisan twist on the traditional deli featuring house-cured meats like its mouth-watering pastrami.
“It’s a pastrami on rye, with melted Swiss and mustard, but we use a mustard pickle relish with Abbruzian style goat horn peppers in the relish,” said owner Joshua Smith. “Everything’s carefully curated, assembled, but at the end of the day it’s a pastrami sandwich. But when you eat it, it’s something completely different.”
New Deal Fruit in Revere
Italian sub lovers should definitely make a trip to New Deal Fruit in Revere.
It has a wide variety of subs such as a sliced genoa salami, a pepper salami, chorizo, a denunzio salami, hot and sweet soprasata, and the rare salami proscuitto.
Wichit in Back Bay
Serving high quality cubanos and crispy chicken katsu, Wichit is one of the few dining bargains on Boston’s Newbury Street.
“Wichit is a specialty sandwich shop featuring all natural sandwiches, locally baked artisan breads. We roast all our meats and have really fun and creative combinations of sandwiches,” said owner Chris Young.
And one of the country’s most successful sandwich chains, Jimmy John’s is planning to open its first three locations in Greater Boston soon.
