Authorities are looking for a suspect in two bank robberies in the Greater Boston area who they consider to be armed and dangerous.

The suspect is a clean-shaven black man of medium athletic build, between 5’8″ and 6′ tall and approximately 25 to 30 years old, according to a statement from the FBI’s Boston division. He may have a tattoo on the right side of his neck and while he has not displayed a weapon during either of the robberies, he has gestured to his waist as if reaching for a weapon, authorities said.

The first robbery occurred on July 28 around 10:20 a.m., when the suspect entered a Century Bank on Granite Street in Braintree. During that robbery, authorities said, he wore a long sleeve button-down dress shirt, yellow tie, sunglasses and Red Sox baseball cap, and gave the teller a note demanding money. After he received the money, he fled in an unknown direction.

The second robbery occurred on Aug. 11 around 1 p.m. at a Citizens Bank on Granite Avenue in Milton. In this instance, authorities said in a statement, he wore a blue and white striped dress shirt and again presented a note demanding money, this time gesturing to his waist as if for a weapon. When he received the money, the suspect left the bank, got into a red sport utility vehicle and was last seen driving onto Interstate 93 North.

The FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force is investigating along with the Massachusetts State Police and Milton and Braintree police departments. Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call the FBI at (617) 742-5533, Braintree Police Department at (781) 794-8600 or Milton Police Department at (617) 698-3800.
