Barry Communications has announced the appointment of Evan J. Berger as the company’s new Business Development Manager.

Berger comes to the regional voice and data technology and services provider from Boston-based data center services company Windstream Communications, where he served as a major account executive. Prior to that, Berger was employed at Verizon Enterprise Solutions, Andover, MA where he was a senior account executive for the enterprise IT services provider for businesses and government. He has also held positions at Dimension Data, Framingham, MA and IBM Global Technology Services, Waltham, MA.

According to Barry Communications president and founder, Barry Gerhardt, Berger will focus on developing new business in the small-to-medium business (SMB) sector in the greater Boston metro area.

“Evan brings with him a strong background in telecommunications, specifically on the carrier side, which is where our industry is integrating a wide range of services into a single, managed solution for greater efficiency and cost-effectiveness,” said Gerhardt. “He comes to us with over twenty years of in-depth information technology experience solving business problems and implementing both technologies and systems to address those problems.”

Berger holds a BA in politics and government from the University of Hartford and is a multiple winner of the IBM 100% Club award for top sales performance. He resides in Sharon, MA.
