One of the great aspects about Boston’s tech and startup scene is that, despite the fact that many vie against each other for various market shares and user dominance, there’s tremendous collaboration between them. In a city where clean energy and green tech are a massive draw for innovators, this notion certainly holds true.
Newton-based Powerhouse Dynamics, which provides economical energy solutions and asset management, put together a map of Greater Boston’s smart building tech companies for everyone to utilize .
“We’ve certainly benefited from being situated in the midst of a smart building technology cluster,” wrote Powerhouse on its blog. “We’ve partnered with some companies, been funded because of the success of others, and appreciate just knowing that all of us are out here working on the same crucial challenges, trying to make a difference in the world.”
Some of these companies you may recognize:
LinkCycle took part in Techstars first demo day of 2013, showing off its data science to help manufacturing companies save money.
WegoWise analyzes the energy performance of a building and helps transform it into a green, money-saving space perfect for living and working alike.
Retroficiency, which provides energy audit software, recently named Ed McGlynn as vice president of utility solutions. The news came just one week ago and is great for Retroficiency given McGlynn’s 20 years of experience in the utility energy efficiency industry.
Embue, unfortunately, was unsuccessful in its Kickstarter campaign to help bring smart thermostat technology to the Boston area.
