Verizon Wireless hiring 150 employees throughout Greater Boston

The Verizon Wireless “smart store” in Natick is the sixth in New England and will feature interactive zones where customers are encouraged to try out different technologies, ranging from gaming to music and fitness.

New Jersey-based Verizon Wireless (NYSE: VZ) is hiring 150 employees throughout Greater Boston, mostly in the retail sales representative division.

Verizon is hosting an event for those interested in the positions on between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 200 Ballardvale St., 3rd floor, in Wilmington.

Applicants are encouraged to apply online before Sept. 24 to be eligible for an on-the-spot interview, according to a release.

“Our employees are at the core of who we are, and we know Massachusetts offers a pool of top-quality, highly skilled talent,” said Verizon Wireless spokesman Michael Murphy in an email. “Verizon Wireless is a growing company in an exciting industry, and we have employment opportunities available in a variety of communities throughout Greater Boston, including the city, North Shore, South Shore and MetroWest areas.”

The job description for retail sales representative, according to Verizon, is as follows:

As a Retails Sales Rep, you’ll use your exceptional knowledge of and passion for technology, professionalism, and people skills to create the ultimate in-store experience. That means impacting and improving our customers’ lives by delivering personalized solutions, equipping them with powerful devices, and providing recommendations and product demonstrations. You’ll also build our customer base and foster long-term relationships by providing superior service and proactively contacting customers to ensure they’re getting the most out of our products and services.

Verizon opened its new “smart store” at the Natick Mall at 1245 Worcester St. in August.
