It feels like a script from the “National Treasure” movies with Nicolas Cage: A time capsule has been found inside a statue that sits on top of the Old State House in Boston.
Built in 1713, the Old State House at Washington and State Streets is the oldest public building in Boston.
For years, there was a rumor that a time capsule was inside the head of a lion statue at the top of the building. This week, the Bostonian Society, which runs a museum inside the Old State House, confirmed it found a box dating back to 1901 inside the statue.

According to the Boston Globe, a relative of one of the statue’s original sculptors found a note that disclosed information about the capsule.
The society said on its Facebook page it hopes to find a way to open the box next week, and replace it with another one for future generations to find.
