OPERATION A.B.L.E.

Leominster community lowincome older workers can benefit from OPERATION A.B.L.E. (Ability Based on Long Experience) of Greater Boston. OPERATION A.B.L.E., the leading provider of employment and training services for mature workers, is seeking low-income Leominster resident’s age 55 and older to participate in the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP). Funded by the U.S. Department of Labor, SCSEP gives qualified individuals the opportunity to update their job skills, develop new aptitudes, earn income during training, and gain greater self-confidence. Following a period of paid-on-the-job training, in which participants work 20 hours per week in non-profit or government organization, SCSEP, assists in transition to a new unsubsidized employment opportunity. Qualified candidates are asked to call Employment Specialist Ann Mathieu at (978) 534-1481 Ext. 261 after 1 p.m.

TRIAD FOR SENIOR SAFETY

TRIAD, in conjunction with Worcester County Sheriff Lewis G. Evangelidis, is a senior public safety resource. TRIAD provides iris recognition, a house numbering program, silent 911, File of Life, Project Lifesaver, 911 cell phones for seniors plus workshops and activities. EZ MOVEMENTS EXERCISE

Try out this new exercise class with Susan Lepore held Wednesdays at 10 a.m. Strength training, core, therapeutic stretching, range of motion and balance exercises. A $5 donation is requested.

TAP DANCE CLASS

Step into the rhythm at the Senior Center Tap Dance Classes are held Thursdays at 1 p.m. with instructor Gerry Burke-LaBerge. Donations are accepted but not required.
