HUDSON, N.H., Oct. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — As part of its ongoing commitment to provide an outstanding customer experience, Comcast Cable today celebrated the opening of a new state-of-the-art customer support center in Hudson, New Hampshire.
The facility will hold approximately 600 people. Comcast continues to hire the best talent to join the Hudson customer support center team. Currently, more than 100 employees are working in the facility. Comcast expects to have 200 employees working in this facility by the end of the year, which includes nearly 100 new positions. With the new positions, Comcast will have more than 1,700 employees across the state, and more than 5,000 across its Greater Boston footprint.
Today’s announcement underscores Comcast’s continued investments in New Hampshire. The company has 12 offices in the Granite State in communities such as Concord, Manchester, Nashua, Portsmouth and Salem. In 2013, Comcast’s total employee investment, including payroll, payroll taxes, benefits, healthcare, training and tuition reimbursement, totaled more than $150 million. Comcast also contributed nearly $2 million in community investment across the Granite State.
“The opening of Comcast’s new facility is exciting for the Hudson community and the State of New Hampshire, creating hundreds of good jobs and representing why New Hampshire is as well positioned as any state to lead the country in innovative economic growth,” Governor Maggie Hassan said. “This new facility will build on Comcast’s significant contributions to our state’s economy and communities, and I would like to thank Comcast for their commitment to the Granite State. I look forward to continuing to work closely with the company to expand middle class opportunities and keep our economy moving in the right direction.”
Employees at the new call center provide support for all Comcast residential products and services, handling calls from across the Greater Boston Region, which serves 1.6 million customers in New Hampshire, Maine, Eastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod and the Islands.
“We are thrilled to be officially opening this new call center in New Hampshire, which joins five others in the Greater Boston Region footprint,” said Steve Hackley, Senior Vice President of Comcast’s Greater Boston Region. “The Hudson call center team is equipped with the latest tools and technologies designed to help improve our customers’ experiences with us, and we’re looking forward to its continued growth and future successes.”
“In addition to being a center for superior customer care, all employees in Hudson will be afforded continuous professional growth opportunities, and we’ll add hundreds of new team members in the near future,” said Matthew Cohen, Vice President of Customer Care Comcast’s Greater Boston Region. “This is an ideal location with a strong and talented labor market and we’re grateful to once again be growing in the Granite State.”
The new 127,000 square-foot, 600-seat facility is located at 55 Executive Drive. The facility features a full service cafeteria, a suite of wellness rooms and a fitness center. Ongoing renovations will allow for further employee growth in 2015.
