Thomas DiBenedetto has left the Roma Board of Directors in an official decision made by the AGM of Trigoria.
The 64-year-old was also president of Roma for a period of 11 months and laid the foundation for the international development and re-marketing of the club prior to handing over the presidency to his successor, James Pallotta.
DiBenedetto led the negotiations for the acquisition for a majority stake of the Giallorossi by NEEP, a company formed by the Bostonian with his American colleagues Pallotta, Michael Ruane and Richard D’Amore.
NEEP dealt with Unicredit in Rome at the Stadio Grimaldi and in Boston at the Bingham stadium.
The preliminary agreement was signed on April 16 2011 and was finalised on August 18, and the group became the first foreign majority owners of a Serie A club.
