CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The Holy Trinity Armenian Church of Greater Boston will usher in the holiday season with its annual Trinity Christmas Bazaar, which will take place on Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6, in the Charles and Nevart Talanian Cultural Hall, 145 Brattle Street, Cambridge MA. Bazaar hours are Friday, from 12 noon to 9 pm, and Saturday, from 10 am to 7 pm.
Bazaar Co-Chairmen are Gregory A. Kolligian, Jr., and Ara Hollisian, chairman and vice-chairman, of Holy Trinity’s Parish Council. Along with their committees, they have been working since the summer to ensure that this year’s bazaar offers something for everyone from the young to the young-at-heart including new booths and menu options. “We are very excited,” the two stated, “to be opening at noon on Friday so we can offer lunch, dinner and other meal options starting earlier and throughout the afternoon and evening hours.”
The bazaar’s traditional favorites will include the bountiful “Farmer’s Market” with fresh fruits and vegetables; the “Country Store” with nuts and sweets; the exciting Sports Silent Auction, where you will be able to bid on Boston’s favorite team tickets and sports Memorabilia; “The Punch Is Right” for Kids; Jewelry; the Sweet Candy Shoppe; Christmas Ornaments and Children’s Books; Made in Armenia Direct; Poinsettias and Wreaths; and ArmenianVendor.com. New this year is “KEZI” offering handcrafted copper wire jewelry. The Bazaar is the perfect time to do your Christmas shopping.
Making his annual visit to the bazaar is Santa Claus who will be stopping by on Saturday, December 6, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., to greet children and to pose for pictures.
There will be Armenian gourmet foods, delicacies and pastries that will be sold at various booths. Traditional Armenian dinners will be served on Friday from noon to 7:30 p.m., and on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Kheyma will be offered on Saturday only. Take-out meals and an a la carte menu will also be available.
On Saturday, December 6, “Santa’s Playland” will provide an array of engaging activities for children ages 4 to 12, in the Peter Adamian Hall. From 10:00 am to 11:45 am, there will be a variety of fun filled activities including painting wooden ornaments, decorating Christmas sugar cookies, face-painting, arts and crafts, writing a letter to Santa, the Mystery Walk, and a separate play room for children under 3. Carnival games will include basketball, bean bag toss, golf, ping pong balls into a muffin cup, Plinko, the balloon pop and, more. Back for the second year, from 11:45 am to 12:30 pm, is “Curious Creatures” – a live, interactive, educational animal program for children of all ages featuring a variety of exotic and unusual animals along with many fascinating, fun facts. Admission for the morning’s activities and program is $5 per child. Carnival game tickets are 50
cents each or 5 for $2 with prizes for all. During the “Curious Creatures” program, the carnival games will be closed down.
Raffle tickets are available for purchase. First prize is a Dynex 42” TV, second prize, Xbox-1 Game Center; and third prize, 3’ x 5’ Bokhara Oriental Rug. A limited number of Super Raffle tickets at $100 each are still available. Only 150 tickets will be sold. First prize is $2,500 ; second prize, $1,000; 3rd prize, $500; and 4th prize, $500. Parking courtesy is allowed around the immediate perimeter of the church complex over the two days of the bazaar.
The Bazaar Committee invites the entire community to attend the bazaar.
