Superheroes of all ages descended on the Seaport World Trade Center yesterday for the kickoff of the eighth annual Boston Comic Con, which runs through tomorrow with a full lineup of contests, panels and celebrity appearances.
Mayor Martin J. Walsh has proclaimed today “Stan Lee Day,” and is expected to be on hand this morning with the legendary Marvel Comics’ co-founder who created or co-created such characters as Spider-Man, the Hulk and X-Men.
More than 300 comic book creators are taking part in this year’s convention, which also features films and game tournaments, and culminates with a costume contest tomorrow that carries a $1,000 prize.
