Report: Significant mail delays in greater Boston

BOSTON — A U.S. Postal Service Inspector General report has found the greater Boston area has experienced significant delays in mail delivery.The report found the Boston Processing and Distribution Center had about 28 million delayed pieces of mail in the first quarter of the 2014 fiscal year — a 56 percent increase compared with the same period last year.Similarly sized facilities averaged about 8 million delayed pieces of mail during the same period.The report said the majority of delayed mail was due to what it called "implementation errors" associated with the efforts to consolidate the Continue reading >>>

New WBUR tower will beam radio signal across Cape Cod

WBUR, a National Public Radio station that broadcasts in Greater Boston, on Friday will activate a powerful new radio tower in Eastham that will give its programming virtually full coverage of Cape Cod for the first time. WBUR already broadcasts its programming from a Tisbury radio tower on Martha’s Vineyard. The Tisbury tower’s signal at WBUA 92.7 FM has reached listeners in such Cape communities as Falmouth, Barnstable, and Yarmouth with WBUR programming since early 2013. Temperatures will warm for late in the weekend but only to seasonable levels. Highs on Sunday should reach into the high 60s and Monday will be even warmer with a high near 74 degrees.
