Pledge resistance by Everett property owner could threaten Wynn casino

EVERETT, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com/AP) -- A missing signature could threaten a billion dollar casino project.Anthony Gattineri, co-owner of the site where Wynn Resorts has proposed to build greater Boston's only casino, has refused to sign the pledge even though the Massachusetts Gaming Commission says it will not approve a casino without assurances that criminals won't profit from it, according to the Boston Globe. The document asks if any "secret owners," including convicted felons would profit from any casino deal. Gattineri refused to sign the statement on the advice of his criminal attorney. Area couples prefer separate accounts, poll says

Couples in the Boston area have declared their financial independence — from each other. Changes coming to Boston Marathon

As of April 21, 2014, 372 days will have passed since the 117th Boston Marathon. This day will mark the first Boston Marathon since the tragic events that took place at the finish line on Boylston Street in 2013. After the bombs went off, over 200 people were injured and three were killed at the finish line. One police officer was later killed during the massive manhunt that shut down Greater Boston.     The Silvio Cella Family Foundation today announced the 2014 recipients of its annual grant program, providing high school football teams in Massachusetts funding to help improve playing conditions, increase player safety and participation, build teamwork, pride and confidence, and help players prepare for their future. Casino Licensing Pushed Back Again Indefinitely

Waiting seems to be the name of the game when it comes to gaming in Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) announced last Friday that it would be delaying the award of a Greater Boston resort casino license indefinitely. The timeline to award a casino license in Greater Boston has steadily moved back for the last year, and most recently it sat at June 30. Charlestown Mite Team Wins Valley League Championship

The Charlestown Mite A team began the season in the Fall of 2013 with big changes.  Its former league, the Greater Boston Youth Hockey League (GBYHL) had recently folded.  The GBYHL’s former teams, which were primarily comprised of teams from Boston’s larger neighborhoods, disbursed to find new leagues.  Many of those teams found a new home in the Valley Hockey League, one of the largest youth hockey leagues in the nation.  The Mite teams alone are comprised of over 70 teams from Boston, Metro West, North Shore, Merrimack Valley and New Hampshire.
