The Rolling Stones rolled into Boston June 12 for their 50 Counting tour to celebrate five decades of performances.   The band played their first Boston-area show the summer of 1966 at the Manning Bowl in Lynn and in the 1990s made a habit of starting their American tours here.  Music journalist Stephen Davis went to many of those shows and wrote a biography of the band in 2001. Beacon Hill Resident Raises Funds For Greater Boston Food Bank

A Beacon Hill resident was recently part of the "Step Into Summer" fundraiser that helped raise both money and awareness for the Greater Boston Food Bank. Sarah Biller, who lives on Beacon Hill and is the president of Capital Market Exchange, is one of three chairs of GBFB's "Kitchen Cabinet," which hosted the Monday event at the Harpoon Brewery Beer Hall. Spokeswoman Dianna Curry said Monday's event was attended by over 100 people and was able to raise enough money "to provide more than 23,000 nutritious meals for those in need throughout eastern Massachusetts." High Liner Foods Lends Dock Space To The Greater Boston Food Bank To …

DANVERS, Mass. Govs. Patrick, Quinn put selves on line in Bruins-Blackhawks bet

While he’s not a huge sports fan, Gov. Deval Patrick has agreed to the proverbial friendly wager between ranking elected officials on the eve of the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals pitting the Boston Bruins against the Chicago Blackhawks.
