OCSD makes arrest in Rossmoor stabbing case

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department has arrested 18-year-old James Anthony Rivas in connection to the attack on a female jogger in Rossmoor on Tuesday night. The arrest occurred at the suspect’s home several blocks away from where the incident occurred on the 3200 block of Bostonian Drive. The victim was jogging alone around 9 o’clock in the evening when she was attacked and stabbed. Despite being wounded, she fought back against her attacker, who fled after a neighbor came out and yelled. An extensive search was unable to to locate the suspect at the time. ROSSMOOR – An 18-year-old man was arrested Thursday night in connection with what officials said was the random stabbing of a 28-year-old woman earlier this week. James Rivas was taken into custody at his home in the 12000 block of Davenport Road on Thursday night, just a few blocks from where the attack happened Tuesday evening. ROSSMOOR (CNS) A suspect sought in connection with the stabbing of a 28-year-old woman who was attacked while jogging in the unincorporated community of Rossmoor was arrested today, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department. Police say that an 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the brutal stabbing of a female jogger in Rossmoor. The suspect, James Rivas, was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, according to police.
