ROSSMOOR (CBSLA.com) — An 18-year-old man was arrested Thursday for attempted murder in the stabbing of a female jogger in Orange County earlier this week.
KNX 1070′s Margaret Carrero reports neighbors were stunned when James Rivas was identified as a suspect following an interview conducted by Orange County Sheriff’s investigators.
Prior to his arrest, deputies conducted a surveillance of Rivas’ Rossmoor home that he shares with his parents.

Suspect Held in Rossmoor Jogger Attack
An 18-year-old man who lives with his parents was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of stabbing a female jogger in Rossmoor earlier this week.
James Rivas was taken into custody around 8 p.m. after a foot chase near his family's Rossmoor house, which is three blocks from the crime scene, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
A knife was recovered nearby, authorities said in a press release issued Friday morning.

OCSD hosts Rossmoor community meeting
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department invited Rossmoor residents to a community meeting at the Rossmoor Park Community Center on Thursday night to discuss the recent incident in which a female jogger was violently attacked and wounded. Female jogger stabbed in Rossmoor
On Tuesday night, a female jogger was attacked on the 3200 block of Bostonian Drive in Rossmoor by an unknown assailant wielding a knife. The suspect remains at large, and there is no known motive for the attack. Beacon Hill residents named to Boston Landmarks Orchestra board

The anti-poverty agency Action for Boston Community Development is marking a half-century of serving low-income residents of Greater Boston with a gala celebration at Boston Marriott Copley Place.
The Nov. 2 event will include a performance by Grammy Award-winner Natalie Cole and the posthumous induction of Peace Corps founder Sargent Shriver into the ABCD Hall of Fame. Bianca de la Garza, a co-anchor at WCVB-TV, will host the event.
