Mark, a former Chicagoan, now Bostonian, posted this photo of a flyer he received in his “motor vehicle excise tax” bill (think of it like the annual city sticker, but much more costly). Ed Markey calls for Waltham postal facility to remain open

Congressman Edward J. Markey, D-7th, urged the United States Postal Service (USPS) to keep the Northwest Boston Area Mail Processing Center in Waltham open and to hold off any decisions to consolidate the plant, after the postal service announced plans to close it. Last week, the USPS announced that they would be moving mail-processing operations at the Waltham location to the Boston Processing and Distribution Center and the Middlesex-Essex Processing and Distribution Center in North Reading. CHR: Renters snap up new apartments in Norwood

By Chris Reidy, Globe Staff Chestnut Hill Realty, a real estate company also known as CHR, said it was able to lease 54 new apartments in Norwood complex called Norwest Woods within three months of those apartments going on the market, another sign of a tight rental market in Greater Boston.
