Forecast: Boston getting 2-4 inches of snow from Tuesday afternoon storm

It just never seems to end. The Greater Boston area could receive 2-4 inches of snow between noon and 8 p.m., with the bulk arriving between noon and 6 p.m. The snow will come down in heavy quick bursts that will likely snarl traffic during peak travel times. Conditions are expected to warm briefly near the end of the week though a cold snap is expected to emerge again early next week. Coakley: I’ll be governor of whole state, not just Greater Boston

Attorney General Martha Coakley brought her run for governor to the Twin Cities Saturday morning, promising she will be a governor for the whole state if elected, not just Greater Boston. Coakley spent time greeting residents and local leaders as she visited both cities' Democratic caucuses, along with other elected officials and candidates for a variety of state offices. Coakley said she knows know very well the economics in this part of the state are very similar to Berkshire County, where she grew up, pointing to the older manufacturing base she hopes to use to spur economic development. Forecast: Saturday nor’easter to pummel Boston while coastal communities …

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the greater Boston area while a blizzard warning has been declared for coastal communities on the North and South Shores. The National Weather Service is projecting 8-10 inches of snow in most eastern Massachusetts communities though some areas on the South Shore could see upwards of 14 inches of snow. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the Greater Boston area until 5 a.m. Sunday as another winter storm is expect to blast the area with a coating of 2-4 inches of snow.
