Watertown councilors voted this week to join a regional committee advising Logan Airport officials on noise pollution after the residents have complained about a recent spike in airplane noise.
Watertown officials will soon be accepting applications for appointees to the Logan Community Advisory Committee, a group of representatives from about 30 Greater Boston communities who want to reduce overhead noise from airplanes arriving at or departing from Logan Airport in Boston.

Zillow's metrics speak volumes about the health of the Greater Boston jobs market, one of the strongest in the country for some years now.

ATV Stolen from Greater Boston Motorsports
An ATV was stolen from Greater Boston Motorsports at 1098
Mass. Ave. at about 4 a.m. Wednesday, according to police.
Employees noticed the ATV missing Wednesday evening and then
spotted a man taking it on surveillance footage, police said.
The suspect is a white male – he was wearing a blue-hooded
sweatshirt and jeans. The ATV is a Kawasaki Brute Force ATV, silver and gray,
with after market black polished wheels and a snowplow.

On Campus: Rich Cavanaugh to be honored with lifetime contribution award
HONORED• The Gridiron Club of Greater Boston has announced that it will present Southern Connecticut State football coach Rich Cavanaugh with the John Baronian Lifetime Contribution to Football Award at its annual awards dinner on Jan. 9 at the Westin Hotel in Waltham, Mass.
Last month, Cavanaugh announced his retirement as head coach of the Owls, effective Jan. 1. He has enjoyed an affiliation with the university since 1982 and served as head coach since 1985.

BOSTON (CBS) – Two events, in two days on two sides of the Boston Harbor honored Boston Mayor Tom Menino who is leaving office after two decades.
The two events could not have been more different.
