Caesars veterans hiring initiative extended to Suffolk Downs casino project

Under the “Enlisting Heroes” program, which Caesars has established at other properties, the company works through local and national veterans’ organizations to encourage military veterans to apply for positions at a Caesars casino and holds job fairs for veterans, in some cases making job offers on the spot, said Stephen Cohen, a Caesars spokesman.

Medford High Softball team captures Greater Boston League title – Wickedlocal

It’s been a long time coming, but Medford High is finally sitting on top of the softball world. The Mustangs captured the Greater Boston League title, after defeating four-time defending champs Malden, 2-1, May 20. State Sen. Katherine Clark, D-Melrose, joined the Greater Boston Mother’s Day Walk in honor of victims of gun violence and their families on Saturday, May 11. Participants carried eight paper flowers in honor of the eight children per day who are killed by guns in the United States. Police tally cost of terror support

The Boston Marathon bombings and the ensuing manhunt for the suspects cost communities across Greater Boston tens of thousands of dollars in police overtime. Area cities and towns are calculating their expenses and submitting them for federal reimbursement.
