Firms close deal on Evergreen Solar plant

Hackman Capital of Los Angeles and Bay State real estate investor Calare Properties officially announced they have acquired the former 448,000-square-foot Evergreen Solar plant on Barnum Road in Devens. The plant, located in the Barnum Business Park, which is four miles west of Route 495 and two miles north of Route 2, is on 25 acres of land and was constructed by Evergreen Solar in 2010. Silver Lake towns come together to ‘Strike Out Breast Cancer’

Young baseball and softball players from all over the Silver Lake school district came together on Good Friday to help “Strike Out Breast Cancer.” The second annual event, held at the Pottle Street Fields in Kingston, was put together by the Kingston Youth Baseball and Softball League and the Bay State Bulldogs AAU baseball team. Last year campers were asked to bring canned goods to the training session. The people responded with more than 3,000 cans that were donated to the Greater Boston Food Bank.
