Martha Coakley endorsed by Taunton Mayor Tom Hoye – The Republican

BOSTON — Attorney General and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Martha Coakley picked up the endorsement of Taunton Mayor Tom Hoye on Tuesday. Hoye is the seventh big city mayor to endorse Coakley in her bid for for the corner office. "Martha Coakley has been a champion for working families inTaunton and is an effective manager who knows how to partner with cities and towns to solve our toughest challenges," said Hoye in a statement. Broadcasters are trying, once and for all, to make sure Aereo doesn’t get renewed for a second season. Aereo, which is headquartered in New York and has its largest office in Boston, had previously offered its TV streaming service in Greater Boston and 10 other US markets. In the wake of Aereo’s recent Supreme Court defeat, Brian Fung reports for the Washington Post that the startup is seeking to stay alive by using a backup legal argument. GAA Abroad: Boston getting ready to host North American Finals

2,500 GAA players will converge on Boston in two weeks time when the North American Gaelic Games Finals are held over Labor Day Weekend in the US. The Irish Cultural Center (ICC) in Canton, Massachusetts is part of the Greater Boston area, and will be the venue for the annual feast of hurling, camogie and Gaelic footballing activity from August 29th – 31st.
