1. Sunny: Today will be sunny with a high around 62 degrees and a low around 42, according to the National Weather Service. The evening will be mostly clear.

2. Town Meeting tonight: Needham will hold its fall special Town Meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the James Hugh Powers Hall on the second floor of Town Hall. On the agenda: a question of whether to adopt the Stretch Energy Code, a funding plan for the new senior center, zoning changes and more, for a total of 15 articles.

3. Library activities: Today at the Needham Free Public Library, children ages 2 and up can enjoy Fire Prevention Month crafts from 10:30-11:15 a.m. At 7:30 p.m., the Library Foundation of Needham will sponsor a class for owners of the Nook e-reader. A manager from the Framingham Barnes Noble will demonstrate how to download free books from the library’s database.

4. Networking opportunity: The Newton Needham Young Professionals Association will hold a networking event tonight from 5:00-6:30 p.m. at the B Street Grill, 796 Beacon St., Newton. The association’s goal is to bring together 21- to 42-year-olds from the Newton/Needham area to network, socialize and create new relationships. Bring a friend or two. Appetizers will be served with a cash bar.

5. Get fit, give back: Starting today and running through the end of November, new members of the Charles River YMCA who bring in five non-perishable food items will have their $50 YMCA joiner fee waived and receive three free sessions of health and wellness coaching. Current members who donate will be entered into a raffle. Food items will be donated to the Greater Boston Food Bank.
