BNY Mellon announces $2.2m in grants to Boston-area nonprofits


BNY Mellon, an investment management company with about 4,000 employees in Greater Boston, said its charitable giving program is awarding more than $2.2 million in grants to local nonprofits during fiscal 2011.

In a press release, the company describes its philanthropic focus as “Powering Potential” as it awards grants that aim to help people by concentrating on basic needs and workforce development opportunities.

Among local nonprofits receiving BNY Mellon grants are Cradles to Crayons, Jewish Vocational Service, and the Home for Little Wanderers.
