Office Properties was certified as a “Sustainable Business Leader”,
having completed the Sustainable Business Leader Program (SBLP) – a
comprehensive program of the Sustainable Business Network (SBN) of
Greater Boston that provides guidance, support and technical assistance
to facilitate the “greening” of small and medium-sized local and
independent businesses.

Bryan Glascock, Head of the Environment Department, and Jacob Glickel,
the Environment Departments Chief of Staff, represented the City of
Boston. “The SBLP does a great job of connecting small businesses with
environmental programs that are offered by the City, State, and the
utilities,” said Bryan Glascock. “Massachusetts was recently ranked the
most energy efficient state in the country, small businesses that lead
by example are critical to this success.”

In order to earn the SBLP certification, Equity Office completed the
rigorous six-step SBLP process reducing their environmental impact and
carbon footprint. Measurable and significant changes were identified and
implemented in the areas of Energy Efficiency, Water Conservation, Waste
Reduction, Transportation Management, Pollution Prevention, Local
Purchasing and Local Food, and Sustainability Management.

with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and
