Mayor Menino’s Office Announces Discounted Holiday Tickets, Eats

From Mayor Menino’s Press Office:

Yesterday Mayor Thomas M. Menino kicked off the 8th Annual Mayor’s Holiday Special program.

Designed to reinvest every dollar patrons spend on theatre, dance and music tickets back into the Boston arts community, the program helps to sustain and grow local cultural events in the city by providing special deals on tickets at www.MayorsHolidaySpecial.com. The program also helps to attract more people to shop and spend at local small businesses in Boston’s main streets districts.

“This program has saved ticket buyers over $2 million and put even more directly into the arts economy. I encourage everyone to see a show, enjoy a festive meal, shop in your local neighborhood, stroll among the holiday lights and create holiday memories you’ll cherish forever,” says Mayor Menino.

Deals on www.MayorsHolidaySpecial.com feature:

  • 75 amazing holiday theater productions and performances;
  • Thousands of half-price seats for sales, more than ever before;
  • A restaurant voucher worth $10 for a festive meal at dozens of restaurants throughout the city;
  • And the full calendar of free and low-cost holiday festivities from tree lightings to open studios and more.

In its eighth year, the Mayor’s Holiday Special has sold enough tickets to fill Fenway Park more than twice or Symphony Hall 33 times, attracting patrons to shop locally and enjoy all that Boston has to offer. Last year, the $10-dollar restaurant voucher garnered thousands of downloads for several area restaurants.

The 8th Annual Mayor’s Holiday Special is produced in collaboration with ArtsBoston and the Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau.
