Sherborn residents shine at Brimmer and May in athletics

Danielle Slichenmyer ’12, of Sherborn, received the Coach’s Award at the Fall Sports Assembly at the Brimmer and May School for play on the varsity field hockey team. This award is presented to an athlete who exemplifies sportsmanship, cooperation, motivation and dedication.

Slichenmyer helped her team to four shutout victories during the season. Head coach Kate Durdam and assistant coach Adam Michael said of her that she never complained, always attended practice, was a good listener, and served as a role model for some of the younger girls.

Slichenmyer is the daughter of Dr. William Slichenmyer and Jeanette Slichenmyer.

Kyle Anderson ’15 received the Most Valuable Player award at the Fall Sports Assembly for play on the varsity cross country team. This award is presented to an athlete who is a vital member of the team and is strong both offensively and defensively. The athlete exemplifies good sportsmanship and promotes team unity and commitment. Anderson was selected as an All-Star for the league and led his team to Brimmer and May’s first ever overall win at a league meet.

Anderson is the son of James and Laurie Anderson.
