Workshop helps people cope with loss during the holidays

The Bertolon Center for Grief Healing, a program of Hospice of the North Shore Greater Boston, will hold a workshop to help people cope with the loss of a loved one this holiday season. Coping with the Holidays, a free workshop, will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 6-8 p.m., at the Bertolon Center for Grief Healing, 78 Liberty St., Danvers.

According to Nancy Sherman, director of bereavement, dealing with the holidays isn’t easy even if you haven’t had a loss. But when you’ve had a loss, it can make the holidays even more stressful.

“The holidays create a combination of joy and memories. People look forward to them with hope and anticipation,” continued Sherman. “Yet this time of year can be especially difficult when loved ones aren’t with us to share in the celebrations. People may feel depressed or not in the mood to be festive.”

Advance registration for the workshop is required, as space is limited. To register, contact The Bertolon Center for Grief Healing at 978-774-5100 or visit hnsgb.org.
