Weston residents appointed to Beth Israel Deaconess boards

Five Weston residents have been appointed to boards serving Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC).

Michael F. Cronin has been named to the Board of Directors.

Since 1991, Cronin has been the co-founder and managing partner of Weston Presidio. He was the managing director of the Security Pacific Venture Capital Group from 1979 to 1991, and was assistant to the president of California Investment Counsel from 1977 to 1979.

Cronin is currently a director of IPCapital Group, Harvard Student Agencies, Harvard Club of Boston, International Technology Group, The Loeb Classical Library, Party City Holdings, and The Wolf Organization.

He received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1977.

David Lamere has also been named to the Board of Directors.

Lamere is retired from BNY Mellon where he was chief executive officer of BNY Mellon Wealth Management, a member of the Corporations Executive Committee, and vice chairman of the Holding Company.

He is also on the Board of Trustees at Babson College.

Robin A. Brown has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of BIDMC, which advises the Board of Directors and officers, identifying and involving potential supporters and resources for programs and facilities of the medical center.

Brown is principal of Spot-On Ventures, a mixed-use real estate development firm in Boston. In addition, he serves as a member of the Board of Directors of BiddingForGood.com, a national technology and marketing based company that provides online auctions for not-for-profits.

Brown partnered with Stephen R. Weiner and Julian Cohen to form CWB, a real estate company responsible for the development of the Mandarin Oriental hotel, retail and residential project. Previously, he served as general manager of the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston for 13 years, where he extended his hospitality and distinctive British humor to hotel guests, neighbors and friends.

Prior to joining the Four Seasons in Boston, he served as resident manager of the acclaimed Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, D.C., and before entering the U.S., he served as the executive assistant manager at the Four Seasons properties in Vancouver and Edmonton, both of which were large, mixed-use urban complexes.

Brown’s reputation as an outstanding hotelier is matched by his personal commitment to the Boston community. He served as vice chairman of the Wang Center for the Performing Arts for more than a decade. He is also director of the Boston Library Foundation and serves as vice chairman of the Back Bay Association of Boston. He recently launched a foundation dedicated to the support of Alzheimer’s research in memory of his father, Jim Brown.

Brown has served as an overseer of the Boston Symphony Orchestra for more than 10 years and is now currently involved in multiple aspects in fundraising, historical renovation, community outreach and community care for Park Street Church in Boston. He has dedicated hundreds of hours to dozens of charities throughout the Boston area in their fundraising efforts.

A graduate of The Hotel School at Southfields College in the United Kingdom, he was recruited by Westin Hotels to begin his career.

Jennifer K. Silver has also been appointed to the Board of Trustees of BIDMC.

Silver is co-managing partner and co-CIO of Redwood Investments LLC, which she co-founded in 2004. Prior to that, she was a managing director and head of growth equity for Neuberger Berman.

Silver spent the first years of her career at Putnam Investments, culminating with a senior leadership role as a managing director.

Silver is chair-elect of Hebrew SeniorLife, on the Board of Directors of Combined Jewish Philanthropies, and on the Board of Advocates of JFCS. She is the former chair of the Boston Jewish Community Women’s Fund, and a former board member of the New England Aquarium and the Meadowbrook School.

Silver received her bachelor of arts degree in political science from Wellesley College and her MBA from Stanford University.

Andrea Finard has been appointed to the Board of Overseers, who act as goodwill ambassadors within the communities served by the medical center. The overseers highlight the importance of BIDMC’s mission to their local communities and strengthen the medical center’s ability to advance its mission through philanthropy.

Finard is an accomplished marketing professional with more than 15 years of experience developing and executing integrated marketing programs. Fluent in Spanish, she also has experience working with global markets, most specifically in Latin America.

Finard’s professional background includes roles as a consultant for account services and marketing and management supervisor at Arnold Worldwide, where she contributed to the marketing plans for clients such as RoyalCaribbean, Radio Shack and Fidelity Investments.

Prior to Arnold Worldwide, she was vice president/associate director of marketing at Digitas, and director of international marketing at Fidelity Investments.

Finard is a board member of the Weston Community Children’s Association and co-chair of the Combined Jewish Philanthropies Mission to Cuba. She is also a former board member of the Weston Library and a former member of the Strategic Planning Committee of the JCCs of Greater Boston.

In addition, she completed the Babson Entrepreneurship Program in 2010.

Finard received her bachelor of arts degree in Spanish and her secondary school teaching certification from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She was also selected for an intensive Spanish immersion study abroad program at the Universidad de Sevilla in Sevilla in Spain.
