Smithfield, R.I. – Bryant University men’s and women’s track and field head coach Stephanie Reilly has added two assistant coaches to her staff for the 2011-12 indoor and outdoor seasons. In her fourth season as the head coach of the cross country teams and track and field teams, Reilly has added Neal White and Mike Simeone to help the program through its final year of NCAA reclassification.
He comes to Bryant after eight successful years at Westwood High School in Westwood, Mass., where he coached multiple division and all-state champions, including two-time 1000m champion Jeff Moriarty, who ran the second fastest time in the nation his senior year. In addition, Neal guided class champions for men and women in the 55m, men in the 200m and 4x400m, 800m and 4x800m, and had individual placers in high jump, shot put, 600m, 300m and high hurdles. His teams were consistently at the top of the Tri-Valley Conference, and he has had numerous athletes compete at the collegiate level.
He has coached at Daniel Hand High School in Madison, Conn., for the last six years and his athletes have soared to new heights. Under his guidance, the Tigers broke nearly every school record and the 2010 outdoor team won the first state championship in school history. His athletes also posted top 15 finishes at the National Championships in the 200, 5k, DMR and won the 4×800 relay. Simeone coached state champions in the 100, 200, 600, 1000, 1600, 3200 and the triple jump.
