Industrial space leased in Southborough
August Brewer of Greater Boston Commercial Properties in Marlborough recently completed an industrial lease at 150 Cordaville Road in Southborough. Greater Boston Commercial Properties was initially engaged by the current tenant, MetroWest Gymnastics, to sublease the space for which there was just under three years left on the term. In less than 60 days, Greater Boston Commercial Properties secured a 5-year deal for the owner of the building, 150 Cordaville Road LLC, with the new tenant, Inside Playground LLC. This new deal resulted in the release of MetroWest Gymnastics from its existing lease on the building.

Southborough publishes local business guide
To build a positive business environment for the success of businesses and ultimately the success of the community and in an effort to attract business and newcomers to Southborough, the Economic Development Team with the unanimous support of the Board of Selectmen recently kicked off its economic development initiative by publishing its Business, Nonprofit and Community Guide. The guide is designed to provide insight as to why residents, companies and nonprofits prefer to live, work and establish their businesses in Southborough. PeopleCube makes business predictions
PeopleCube, a Framingham-based provider of intelligent workplace management technology, recently predicted that maximizing the efficient utilization of real estate, resources and energy will be a critical business focus during 2012. To arrive at astute, accurate financial decisions, management teams will focus on increasing data acquisition so they can analyze workspace utilization trends down to a finite level. They will also place greater emphasis on leveraging flexible space and videoconferencing solutions, all in an attempt to maximize productivity without increasing costs.  State entrepreneurs feel optimistic, study says
Massachusetts entrepreneurs are optimistic and well-positioned to move forward in recovery to build an entrepreneurial economy that is innovative and globally competitive, according to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Massachusetts 2010 Report. The study conducted by Babson College in Wellesley recognizes the state’s “special entrepreneurial legacy,” but further suggests a need to understand the “entrepreneurial ecosystem” that cultivates entrepreneurship of all kinds — from cutting-edge, high-potential and knowledge-based firms to necessity-driven entrepreneurs in every corner of the state.
