WATERTOWN, Mass.—On May 22, after the Opening Ceremony of the Armenian Heritage Park in Boston, a delegation comprised of Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan, Minister of the Diaspora Heranoush Hacopyan, and Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia Tatoul Markarian visited the St. Stephen’s Armenian Elementary School in Watertown. They were accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop Oshagan Choloyan, His Eminence Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Rev. Archpriest Antranig Baljian, the pastors of the Armenian Churches of the Greater Boston area, and James Kalustian, the president of the Armenian Heritage Foundation. The dignitaries were greeted by the administration, members of the school board, and by the students who waved their Armenian flags with excitement, as this was a special day for the school.

In her welcoming remarks, Principal Houry Boyamian expressed her gratitude to the dignitaries for taking time from their busy schedule to visit the school. She provided an overview of the school’s achievements and mentioned that the Graduating Class was in Armenia for a two-week tour (for the 9th Annual School Trip to Armenia). She then invited the students to present a special program prepared for the occasion.
After the students’ performance, Archbishop Choloyan and Archbishop Barsamian, followed by Nalbandyan, addressed the attendees, expressing their appreciation of the school’s accomplishments and the important role it plays in the community.
