Hospice of the North Shore Greater Boston is launching a Facebook campaign designed to spread the word about this year’s 19th annual Regatta artwork.
“Marblehead Memories Forever” is a folk-art painting created by New England artist Christopher Gurshin. With a wonderful harbor full of boats and great architecture, “Marblehead Memories Forever” is filled with sentimental details like hollyhocks, the Old Town House, JOJ Frost, “Spirit of ‘76” and many other unmistakably fine town features too numerous to name.
The Facebook campaign will feature images from the painting asking viewers to identify what they see and to share the post with their Facebook friends. Everyone who shares the postings will be entered into a drawing to win an 8-inch-by-10-inch, signed, limited-edition print of the painting. In addition, note cards and reprints of the painting are available for purchase through HNSGB.
The original painting is currently on display at the Arnould Gallery in Marblehead and will be presented for auction by auctioneer Paul Zekos on Friday, June 14 at the Boston Yacht Club in Marblehead, with the Regatta race following on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 16. Proxy bids may be placed by contacting the Hospice of the North Shore Greater Boston Development Office at 978-223-9787. For more information, visit hnsgb.org/regatta.
