Dr. David J. Greenblatt is the Louis Lasagna Professor of Integrative Physiology and Pathobiology at Tufts Univerity. For many years the Chair of the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics and the Program Director of the Clinical Pharmacology group, he is widely recognized for his contributions to pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and neuroreceptor properties. He has received numerous honors and awards and is the author of over 750 original research papers.

Their study, which was funded by the Sjögren’s Syndrome Foundation and in which many members of the support group participated, was designed to evaluate cognitive functioning in Primary Sjögren’s Syndrome patients when compared to appropriately matched control subjects. Cognitive and psychomotor functions were assessed via a number of measures that included objective testing, self-report, and selected metrics of cognition. The presentation will summarize the study: what they did; what they found; and what they believe are the implications/next steps.

Please plan to attend our December 6th meeting, and once again bring friends and family with you, as well as your stories and suggestions for the Greater Boston Support Group.
