Fall Out Boy, Paramore summer tour to stop in Hartford, Greater Boston

  Fall Out Boy and Paramore will take the road this summer in what the two band have dubbed the "Monumentour." The tour kicks off on June 19 in Hartford Xfinity MeadowsTheatre and wraps up at the Sleep Train Pavilion in Concord, California on August 17. The tour will stop at the Xfinity Center (formerly Great Woods, Tweeter Center...) in Mansfield, Massachusetts on June 22. Disruptive TV service Aereo raises $34m in Series C round

Aereo Inc., an Internet-based service that unnerves major broadcasters by letting subscribers in Greater Boston and other urban areas watch TV broadcasts on such devices as iPhones and iPads, said it has just raised $34 million in Series C financing to support rapid nationwide expansion. Highland Capital Partners, a venture firm with offices in Cambridge, was among those participating in the round, Aereo said in a press release. Boston Globe publisher Christopher Mayer to step down

Somerville girls basketball team looking forward to GBL schedule

The Somerville girls basketball team is anxiously awaiting the start of its Greater Boston League schedule. The Highlanders (1-4) open their league schedule Friday at Malden. They are the defending co-champions of the GBL along with Medford and Cambridge.
