With construction and leasing booming, Boston’s lab space market squeezed tight

The market for laboratory space in Greater Boston is growing tighter, according to a new report, with little space available in Cambridge and vacancy in the City of Boston at just 0.2 percent.The real estate brokerage Transwestern RBJ reported that science companies and institutions moved into 516,000 square feet of lab space from July to September, pushing the area’s vacancy rate down from 11.6 percent to 9.5 percent. Report: Latinos lack power in Boston-area governments

BOSTON (AP) GT;GT; A new report from an advocacy group finds that Latinos are not well represented in positions of power in city government in Boston, Somerville and Chelsea. The Boston Globe reports the study, commissioned by the Greater Boston Latino Network, is to be released Tuesday. It finds that in Boston, where one in six residents are Latino, only one Hispanic serves in Mayor Martin Walsh's 13-member cabinet and only 7 percent are represented as department heads or appointees to boards and commissions. Walsh to convene team to grow diversity

Mayor Martin J.
