Grad students have can-do attitude

Tapping into their competitive spirit, students at five of Harvard’s graduate Schools challenged each other in a competition to collect canned food and other dry goods for the Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB). The Schools had three weeks to rally staff members, faculty, and students. They plastered colorful posters in public spaces and sent email blasts to listservs, and — pretty soon — boxes started to fill with pasta, tuna, cereal, and oatmeal. Next week, Dec. 11 to be precise, Lyndon “LB” Byers and Anthony “Spaz” Parziale, of WAAF(FM)’s “Hill-Man Morning Show,” will literally “rise-up” against hunger in “WAAF’s Rise Up Against Hunger” campaign. The duo will do remotes, separately, from lifts — one on Boston and one in Framingham, Mass. Show host Greg Hill will be in studio running the show. Gov. Patrick Welcomes Hainan Airlines To Boston

BOSTON (CBS) – The right plane for the right time. That was the message delivered by Governor Patrick, Massport’s CEO Tom Glynn and Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce President Paul Guzzi as they officially welcomed Hainan Airlines to Boston. The event took place in the afternoon at The State House before a large crowd of tourism officials. The new flights to Beijing, China will begin with four flights a week on June 20th of next year.
