COLUMN: Much to be thankful for in Cambridge

Thanksgiving has particular connections to Cambridge, Boston and Massachusetts as a whole. At a time when we give thanks for family, friendship and more, we should remember the history of this holiday, especially since this is the 150th anniversary of the Presidential Proclamation of 1863, first noting a formal Thanksgiving Day for the United States. Another undefeated season for MHS X-country

The Malden High School girls cross-country team has achieved their third consecutive undefeated season, and with it, a third Greater Boston League title. The Golden Tornados opened their season with a 22-38 win over a strong Cambridge Rindge and Latin team.  However, the win was bittersweet, as senior tri-captain Jacqueline Bouley incurred an injury that would end her season and leave Malden short-handed the rest of the season. EmailEAST BOSTON, Mass. – Suffolk Downs and Mohegan Sun announced Wednesday that they have struck a deal to partner in an effort to win the sole destination resort casino license designated for the Greater Boston area.Both entities had been searching for a new partner after recent developments. Greater Boston Food Bank, Newton Food Pantry report growing need

The season of feasting has begun. But even as some pore through cookbooks in search of the perfect stuffing, nearly one in eight residents of Massachusetts worry that the food in the cupboard won’t last until the end of the month. The problem is growing and it’s not just in the poorest urban neighborhoods. Hunger exists in every community, including Newton. (NECN) - While many people are thinking about turkey, stuffing or Black Friday deals, this is also a time to think of the less fortunate and give back to those in need. A Dedham man has been arrested in connection with the investigation of more than 20 armed robberies at Dunkin’ Donuts shops in the greater Boston area, Canton police said this afternoon. Isaiah Murphy was taken into custody at 2:40 p.m. Murphy is to be arraigned Wednesday in Stoughton District Court on armed robbery charges, said Canton Police Chief Kenneth Berkowitz. CANTON (CBS) – An arrest has been made in connection with a string of armed robberies at Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the greater Boston area. On Tuesday morning, officers from several agencies including Canton Police, Boston Police and the FBI, arrested 23-year-old Isaiah Murphy at his Dedham home. A warrant was issued after weeks of investigation into a rash of over 20 armed robberies. Evidence linking Murphy with the robberies was found at his home.
