Immigrants show national pride on Citizenship Day

Race Matters In Boston Politics

Race has been a loaded topic in Boston ever since the busing battles of the 1970s. Now, as Boston prepares to elect the first new mayor in two decades, race is playing a role again.

Three Boston Area Banks Among Worst for Complaints

Three banks with branches in the Greater Boston area were ranked among the 10 worst in the nation for complaints, reported The Boston Globe.US Public Interest Research Group reported that Sovereign Bank, RBS Citizens Bank and TD Bank were all ranked among the 10 worst when adjusted for size, reported The Globe.The results came from US PIRG’s US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Tavern in the Square Bar to Open Four New Locations

Tavern in the Square, a favorite neighborhood sports bar for many, will soon expand to four new locations by the end of 2014, making it the fastest growing restaurant in the Greater Boston Area. The existing six Tavern in the Square bars, known as “TITS” to rowdy college students, each have their own unique atmosphere. Map: Greater Boston, Springfield Led State’s Economic Growth Last Year

BOSTON — Economic growth was mixed across Massachusetts metros last year, with the broadly defined Boston and Springfield areas leading the way. Real gross domestic product increased 2.3 percent in 2012 in both Greater Boston — which also includes parts of southeast New Hampshire — and the Springfield metro, according to figures released Tuesday by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.
