Roslindale residents move into Habitat for Humanity homes

Lucia Audate, Khatisia Goode and their families officially became neighbors Saturday as the Greater Boston Habitat for Humanity turned over their new homes to them, a two-unit duplex on Bradeen Street in Roslindale. The duplex is the first completed building in the Red Rose Condominium complex Habitat is building. The name comes from Fred and Rose Salvucci, who owned the site and were going to develop it into a for-profit rental complex when they decided to donate it to Habitat, building permits and all. North Shore Hospice plans new 20-bed facility

  The Hospice of the North Shore Greater Boston has acquired a 12-acre parcel of land located on the Waltham and Lincoln town line to build a 20-bed inpatient hospice facility, similar to the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. The land is located at 1100 Winter St., Waltham, and 121-129 Winter St., Lincoln. The Kaplan House, which opened in 2005, was the first licensed hospice in the state to provide inpatient care to adults and children  In the last eight years, there has been a tremendous growth in the need for inpatient hospice services.
