Marblehead judo champ speaks at Big Sister gala

Marblehead resident Kayla Harrison took to the stage to share her journey to becoming the first American to win Olympic gold in judo as the Big Sister Association of Greater Boston held its annual Big in Boston gala Saturday, Nov. 10. Pine Street Inn Serves Thanksgiving To Boston’s Needy

BOSTON — Many shelters and soup kitchens in the Greater Boston area will be busy places Thursday as they serve up some comfort for those in need with a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

Few places will be busier than the Pine Street Inn in Boston, where volunteers began arriving at 3:00 a.m. to start preparing the more than 1,500 meals the shelter plans to serve today.

Pine Street Inn Spokeswoman Barbara Trevison spoke with Bob Oakes on WBUR’s Morning Edition.
