Manufacturing Makes Comeback In Boston

BOSTON (CBS) – The manufacturing sector in Greater Boston is finally starting to grow after years of losses. That’s according to a new study released by the Brookings Institute. WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Anthony Silva reports Brookings economist Howard Wial tells me manufacturing in the Boston-Cambridge-Quincy area ranks in the top 10 nationally. Regional electric grid administrator ISO New England is concerned uncertain supplies of natural gas will lead to power reliability concerns over the summer, when electricity demand is at its highest. A Panera bakery cafe is opening in Boston’s Theater District

Panera Bread Co. said it is officially opening one of its bakery cafes in Boston’s Theater District Wednesday. The new Panera on Stuart Street has a format that includes intimate seating areas, a fireplace, and a community table. There is free WiFi Internet access. And the cafe is also offering a catering menu that is available for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. This option is available for groups from five to 500, Missouri-based Panera said.
