Take on "Forces of Nature" with new Gears of War 3 DLC

In the realm of console gaming, this week is pretty bland. There are not many major titles hitting store shelves this week, so if you were hoping for something fresh to get your thumbs on, save your pennies. However, if you own an Xbox 360 and Gears of War 3, you may want to look into the "Forces of Nature" DLC available for download March 27, 2012. GOW3 was one of the most anticipated games of 2011, with numerous delayed releases. The problem is that gamers today are not content playing the same eight levels of Super Mario Bros. on NES over and over again. They want the latest game, they Continue reading >>>

HGTV hostess Beth Stern doesn’t kid herself. She knows she owes her TV career to her controversial hubby, shock jock Howard Stern. “With me, that’s really why I’m anyone,” the statuesque blonde told the Track. “It sounds so self-deprecating, but I appreciate that I’m able to do what I’m doing because he brought notice to me. I owe it all to him.” But let’s give Beth some props for making her makeover show, “Mom Caves,” into a hit for the home-renovation channel. Each week Beth, designer Matt Muenster and their crew surprise a lucky lady, custom designing and building her Continue reading >>>

Bloomberg and Obama slept here. Neither stayed.

The reason I bring this up is that my social chatter for the past couple of weeks is filled with the tension of the college decision. In many ways, the choice of college is somewhat arbitrary, both on the part of the eighteen-year-old and on the part of the admissions departments. Yet, the experiences of college are life-changing. High schoolers worry. So do their parents. Among my friends, something more than half of the graduating seniors choose a college within a hundred miles of home. (It may be more like three-quarters, since I am not keeping careful track of this.) I am surprised how many Continue reading >>>
