In Eastern Massachusetts, one in nine people uses a soup kitchen or a food pantry. One in nine. I recently attended the monthly operations meeting of the North Shore Hunger Network, a 20-year-old group of people representing agencies from Amesbury to Beverly committed to serving the food insecure. Shrewsbury Postal Processing Center Will Close

Despite postal workers opposing the closure of the Shrewsbury facility, the U.S. Postal Service announced they will be closing the local processing center. The operations of the Shrewsbury facility will be split between the Boston and Middlesex-East Processing and Distribution Center in North Reading, according to Telegram.com. In January, postal employees met in Marlborough to discuss the cuts and learn about the study being conducted by the postal service. MBTA update: IG recommends savings to "THE RIDE" program
