Wynn’s political gifts raise questions

Wynn Resorts, the casino company vying for the Greater Boston gambling license, donated $200,000 last winter to the Republican Governors Association, the same organization that is now playing a key role in boosting Charlie Baker’s run for governor. The state’s gambling law prohibits applicants for casino licenses from donating, directly or indirectly, money or in-kind contributions to “any group, political party, committee, or association organized in support” of a Massachusetts candidate. Seven recent leases signed in MetroWest

In Natick, a pair of former industrial buildings near the Natick Center T station has been reborn as stylish new apartments, with some units fetching rents up to $2,250. A new condo building around the corner in the town center sold a couple dozen units in the $400,000s after opening in the aftermath of the Great Recession - the timing was touch but the building ultimately proved a success.
