Quincy welcomes The China’s unique Boston sports bar concept

The China Restaurant Sports Bar in the Wollaston section of Quincy offers one of the coolest concepts in Greater Boston. It’s essentially a typical all-American sports bar dedicated to Boston’s beloved teams. But instead of ordinary American sports-pub fare, The China offers great dim sum and an expansive menu of Chinese-American and Polynesian fare — with plenty of nods to sports-pub tastes, too.The China opened late last year, but finally celebrated its “official” arrival this week, with a visit from Quincy Mayor Tom Koch and other city officials and a traditional Chinese lion dance. The Continue reading >>>

On casinos, Walsh should use all tools to defend city’s interest

Won’t say if lawsuit in works on host bid Boston Mayor Marty Walsh says he doesn’t regret his votes as a state rep to open the state to casino gaming even as he presses the Massachusetts Gaming Commission for a designation that would probably undermine casinos in the Greater Boston area. The commission is expected to rule today on Boston’s claim that it should be designated a host community for the proposed casinos in Revere and Everett. If Boston wins host community status, the proposed Wynn Resorts casino in Everett would be required to win the support of Charlestown residents and Continue reading >>>
