Group pushes to strengthen interfaith bonds

One year after it emerged as a leader in the collective healing process that followed the Marathon bombings last April, the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization is embarking on a campaign to strengthen links among local congregations. The Rev. Burns Stanfield, president of the organization, began a meeting Sunday with a prayer of remembrance for the victims of the bombings. The group introduced its project, dubbed the Congregational Organizing Initiative, during a meeting Sunday in the basement of Roxbury Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Burns Stanfield, president of the GBIO, began the session with a prayer of remembrance for the victims of the Marathon bombings. Men’s Tennis Suffers First Loss Of Greater Boston Tour, Falls 5-4 To Middlebury

Middlebury, Vt. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s tennis team suffered the first loss of its trip to the east coast in nailbiting fashion on Friday afternoon against No. 10 Middlebury College.  Playing indoors at the Duke Nelson Recreational Center because of rain throughout the region, the Panthers picked up two wins in doubles before taking the match 5-4 with three wins in singles.  Middlebury improves to 9-2 with the win.  Gustavus sees its eight-match winning-streak come to an end and is now 21-4 following the loss.
